Over a decade ago, I got a moving, emotionally-charged letter from a fan I didn’t know I had.

I’d had a rough summer, and remember thinking “t least I have one fan.”

My friend Sean Watkins was living in my back house, and we wrote a song called ‘For The Sender’ about the letter. That one song about one letter evolved into a project where our neighborhood family of musicians, from local stalwarts to Grammy-winning, platinum-selling artists, wrote and recorded songs about your stories.

And my own next chapter began.

For the next ten years, I lived a dream.

Three books, over 40 songs, sold-out shows that found me sharing the stage with a few heroes, a PBS special, donating thousands of dollars back to causes chosen by the letter senders, meeting many of you along the way… too many beautiful things to mention here.

So, I gathered all of those beautiful things into one place:

The entire story, told through all three books, is there.

And a new story is just beginning.

We’re back, and we’ll have another round ready for you later this fall, as well as the return of our year-end show.

See you out there.
